Cork Hurlers - Part 2

If roles were reversed and Cork won and the ref missed a jersey pull denying Clare a free people in Cork would want to erect a statue of Johnny Murphy,
No way.

People were moaning about playing beyond injury time in the first game in 2013. I said at the time and since, no problem at all with the extra seconds played, Clare deserved the draw and it was poor game management from us to not see the game out. Also, over the 2 matches, they were much the better team, as was reflected on the scoreboard after the replay. That was the poorest Cork team I remember in my lifetime that got to an AI final.

Most Cork people are fair minded when it comes to sport. The fact is, all those por decisions cost us several points on the scoreboard last Sunday. To say otherwise, is to simply bury your head in the sand.

There is 70 plus minutes in a game and in this case 90 plus minutes. If we are reduced to bitching about a little tug of a jersey then we really have fallen a long way.

You win some decisions and you lose some but you make your own luck.

Everyone was way too arrogant that we would beat them well and now everyone is going around with heads like well slapped arses.😆😆

Fact of the matter is Clare are all Ireland champions 2024 and hats off and congratulations to them.

The famine gets worse for us but if we are deluding ourselves about ref decisions then we really haven’t learned anything.🙈🙈

A fella said to me thursday night... ".. we will handy by 9 points and I hope the ref protects the cork forwards and lets them play..."

i asked him if he wanted the clare backs to stand back and not tackle so
Was this person 8? Anyone who thought we'd win handy genuinely has a lot to learn about not just hurling, but life in general.
Clearly I know people a lot smarter and wiser than that person you spoke to as nobody I spoke to, and I spoke to feckin loads, thought this was anything other than 50:50.
As it proved to be

Cork should have held that 7 point lead. After we went 7 up, we lost 3 of our puck outs in a row and a couple of bad wides.
We should have gone in at half time nearly game over.
