Cork Hurlers - Part 2

He decided he wouldn't allow quick puck outs and that changed the game utterly. Cork depended on finding men in space when the opposition pushed down the field in search of a score.
The GAA authorities stepped in. Both camps were spoken to about the puck out rule being applied. The ref spoke to both teams on the day too.
All spring the rule on puck outs and waiting for the refs whistle had been eroded to the point that it had all but disappeared. That was to Corks benefit up to the final as they exploited it superbly.
It was back in check for the final and definitely was a hindrance to Cork

Yeah, it was flagged in the media the week before. But what baffles me is that all kinds of rules are constantly ignored. Serious rules. Rules that protect players from injury. They've all fallen to the 'let the game flow' mantra. Then, after Kiely pipes up, the GAA decide that there's one rule they won't ignore - a comparatively minor rule that serves to stop the game flowing. It's bizarre really.

It's not what Kiely says. It's about what JP wants

Glad to hear that Jack was going well in training. He got possession under the Nally and took off like Usain Bolt.

With Robbie, Jack & Shane Kingston all back to their best next season, we will have frightening pace.

So many of our lads will improve beyond recognition- Downeys, Joyce, Connolly, Hayes etc

We all expect Limerick to contend again but I believe that no side can improve as much as we can.

Mark my words - we will bring Liam home next season.

Get your season tickets early

Downey Captain next year. He will lift Cup with Hoggy. You heard it here first. Let Summer see its course and Winter the pot will begin to stir again.
It’s a funny old game, Clare not at their most entertaining this year and lose to Limerick twice but win the all-Ireland, we must also remember Lohan has been building this team for 4 years and they have a higher age profile than Cork.

We got to a final playing some brilliant hurling and this after a very poor league and start to the championship with 6 changes the next day out. A more settled team going into the league with a few new lads blooded and reblooded……Twomey, Power, Cunningham, Mullins, Kingston, O’Connor, the Roches. There are all-irelands there for this team in the next few years and we might as well start next year!! ?
