Cork Hurlers - Part 2

That’s probably the best 15 available to Ryan.

This year is a free hit, team were in the doldrums and going sideways under previous management.

Just hope the supporters go into the game with an open mind and show a bit of patience. The bitching and moaning when particularly Cahalane, Meade and Lehane make even a minor mistake is sickening.

A bozo sitting near me at one of the league games was on Lehane from the warm up. He’d his mind made up and took great delight in telling his buddy how shit Lehane is at every opportunity, like he was happy to be proven right.

Several of this team will be retired or off the panel by the time cork win it’s next all ireland but if they can contribute to the evolution of Ryan’s project then they’ll have played a part.

Can’t wait for Sunday, twas a long fucking winter and it’s great that summer hurling is finally back.

Tom Barron in for De Burca the only change. Callum Lyons gone to 6
Ya , looks like similar gameplan to the limerick game for the deise.

They don’t want to concede goals and want to keep it low scoring. Davy obviously paid close attention to the Wexford game in the league… Pat Ryan’s attempt to transition to play a faster more direct game came to a halt that day against a team with a bunch of lads sitting deep.

Re the Cork team, not a major surprise that he’s gone for the tried and trusted in Lehane & Meade, with plenty ammunition coming off the bench. Most interesting one for me is TOM. Of all the returning lads he was possibly the most progressed so this is a pretty straight forward demotion I think. Attitude / temperament concern from PR I wonder ? He ticks all the other boxes for a Pat Ryan player

I think the hand was forced by the injuries and people seem to be forgetting Alan Connolly who imo is the biggest loss as he is a goal scoring forward.
The words tried and trusted getting a liberal interpretation across this thread also, imo the selectors have gone for experienced players who have certainly tried, whether they can be trusted to deliver in what will be a physical Munster championship match has yet to be proven

Good post & well said. But I’d disagree with your second sentence - last Sunday showed Limerick are there to be beaten. We’re as likely as any of the chasing bunch to be in contention for an All Ireland… the size of our county & history we should never mention Liam McCarthy and free hit in the same sentence

Hope I'm wrong but a team with Downey and Cahalane in the full back line and Lehane and Meade up front I would worry. Would be exciting to see Power, O'Flynn, Twomey's x 2 introduced early..... A positive note is when Eoin Downey and Sean O'Donoghue slots back into full back line and Robbie O'Flynn, Sean Twomey and possibly Padraig Power secure a jersey up front now we are going places. Also think Ethan Twomey will challenge for a midfield jersey so bodes well for the future.

I wouldn't be surprised to see some changes before throw in.

The bench is looking really strong. I'd have zero issues with any of those guys starting and I think they can all have a good impact off the bench.

Kingston as a sub is the right call. We'll more than likely finish stronger that we start, whether it will be enough we'll see on Sunday.

Waterford really impressed me last Sunday. Very good tactically. The question is will that game energise or deplete them?
