Child killed in wexford

And if they did the far right would only use that as evidence for their moronic notions ‘fOrEiGnErS aRe DaNgErOuS’.
As we've seen it'll get out anyway.

By trying to hide it you're handing the initiative to the lunatics to set the narrative.

"The father, a British resident originally from Kuwait"

v

"Here is an Arab name. Make of that what you will"

Which in this case was in the public domain within 24 hours. Now that you know the nationality, exactly what difference does makes to the child's death.

I read reports from RTE and the Irish Times this morning. There was no mention of nationality. Just 'a Man'.

The first reports I saw that the suspect was ME were the Indo and Gript.

I don't expect that kind of information from RTE/IT as I explained earlier they editorialise how they report the news in serious crimes involving non Irish perps.

You saw similar with the Chaplain stabbing in Aug, Parnell Sq Nov 23, Geila Ibram in Limerick in Apr 23, The Sligo murders in 2022. There's an established pattern there and I don't hear any similar 'mothers talk to your sons' style reporting.

100%, just reports the cold hard facts.

As it should be.

I saw it on Breakingnews.ie and Corkbeo, quite right that the backround to this case shouldn't be censored from news coverage. We don't live in a totalitarian state where the state has control over how news is reported.

Either the Sun or the Star printed his nationality yesterday, can't remember which one.

Perhaps they hadn't the nationality confirmed by the Gardai, they wouldn't operate under the same reporting rules as the red tops.
How soon after the crime is committed do you need the nationality confirmed by the IT or RTE. Again what difference does it make?
