Brian Fenton retires,

Brilliant player and a huge loss to Dublin so much so coupled with McCarthy and looks like cluxton also brings the dubs right back, serious transition for Dublin

Didn’t expect that. He was spectacular. Looking forward to his comeback!
I'd agree. They can't afford to lose him.Maybe the legs aren't up to it anyone. Awful lot of miles there. Hope he comes back tho.wonderful player and decent lad too.

His dad’s from outside Killarney, not sure where his mam was from? Great player. Don’t think it’s a bombshell announcement. He had 6 all irelands medals, played at top level for years. That’s huge commitment and tough on the body. Best of luck to him. Was a pleasure to watch.
He did a job on the Kerry folks over the last decade as well . Showed them what it's all about

Id say its the commitment more than the physical aspect - he is a seriously fit fella
He has given over 10 years solid to the dubs from when he broke through in the 21s to now and most of those were full seasons without early exits. Every aspect of his life is determined by GAA, he's just bought a house and I'd say needs to move on with what he's going to do with the rest if his life. He can see the Dubs are in for a reset and probably doesn't have the want in him for it

McCarthy is possibly a bigger loss to them in the short-term, he was their leader, but Fenton was some footballer, everything looked effortless
