2024 Junior A Football Championship

East Cork JAFC 3rd round:

Erins Own 3-11 Aghada 0-8
Cloyne 7-5 Fr O Neills 1-12

Both Cloyne and Erins Own qualified from their groups.

Aghinagh probably favs for county now. Followed by Kilmacabea, Castlemagner, Inniscarra, Mayfield and Killavullen. Lc gaels may put it up to Killavullen in Avondhu. Do donoughmore have any chance of winning Muskerry? They’ve been impressive to date.

I said earlier on this Doghnomore will be up there. Savage minor team and Mossie Barrett seems to have geled them together with the older lads. Won't be far off.

Donoughmore look to have come on massively in just a year alright. They didn't even get out of their group last year and lost all of their games, and are now league champions and hammering teams in championship (Admittedly against Clondrohid who seem to be really struggling and might not be far off dropping to Junior B). For them to win a mid-cork I think they'll be hoping Inniscarra & Aghinagh draw each other in knock out and then catch the winners on an off-day as I don't see them beating both Inniscarra or Aghinagh at full strength this year.

In terms of games this weekend there will be a few hammerings I feel with Grenagh V Ballincollig being the pick of the games

Beal Athan Ghaorthaidh V Blarney
Kilmichael v Donoughmore
Inniscarra
v Ballinora
Eire Og V Clondrohid
Aghinagh V Dripsey
Grenagh V Ballincollig

I don't think Ballygarvan will be too far away from it. I saw them play my own club earlier in the year and they didn't have Sean Brady available to them that day and I was still impressed with them. They're on the easier side of the county draw also

I feel it is the closest junior county in a while, few teams could win it, mainly due to the restructuring tbf. I'd be leaning with Aghinagh. Watched them earlier in the year and seem well coached. Mayfield could rattle it again if they come through the city. I'd imagine Douglas or Michael's second teams will put it up to them though.
