2024 Intermediate A Hurling Championship

A separate competition for 2nd and 3rd teams, to take in 24 teams.
The rest stay where they are.
No messing up the real grades then when clubs Senior teams use 5 or 6 lads who played Intermediate in the early stages and are useless by the knock out stages.

Midleton got to the final last year. Sars two years before that and Blackrock won it two years before that
It's funny how people here convince themselves of issues when they are none.

I suppose what lads are saying is that there is a bit of an unfairness that clubs can meet a very strong second team in game 1 and then by game 3 they're depleted. Take Aghada this year, they played a much stronger Sars side early on than Ballygiblin did in the last game. The second top scorer from last year's PSHC was playing and then he's gone.

Kildorrery also got knocked out by a Blackrock team with Tadgh Deasy and a few others I think and then they were burnt by quarter-final.

I've no sympathy for Aghada they do the exact same thing in Junior football in East Cork

Happened for years at Junior level in East Cork. Sars/Midleton/EO second teams lording it early rounds. Makes teams better. All those junior teams in east cork that had to play them are now intermediate or better. A bit like Imokilly in senior, it improves the levels of others

Senior clubs could be asked to nominate panels before championship starts , I think that might be a start.
There could be a limited number of common players allowed on both panels.

You'd think Lisgoold should shade this tomorrow?
It's a huge opportunity for them and I think they are good enough to do it. With the age profile of their team and the efforts put in at juvenile level in recent years they have potential to be playing senior in next few years.

It's great to see themselves and Russell Rovers who are traditionally 2 Junior B clubs, moving up the ranks and both enjoying the best years in their history at the same time.

Tough one to call. And I've seen neither play this year so only going on what I've heard.

By all accounts Lisgoold were a good bit off the pace in the semi and only for Ballygiblin self destructing with 2 needless red cards then they probably wouldn't be here at all.
I've heard it said as well that they are a bit gung ho in attack and leave themselves open at the back only they are yet to meet a team that can properly exploit the way they are set up.

Erin's Own are hard to make out. All these guys are doing premier Senior training. A lot of them have played premier Senior. They'll be hard beaten. I find it strange that more of these guys aren't on the Erin's Own first team and that it took so long to weed out some of the older guys.

I should be a good game. But ya I expect Lisgoold to shade it.
