They had 3 or 4 decent goal chances as well. But their play out of defence was glacial compared with the Barrs. Goulding spent most of the game out around the 40 or further. O Callaghan was anonymous for much of the game. They played 2 inside with little success.

At the opposite end Cooper and Griffin struggled after the first quarter.

EO never really had a go after the Barrs goal midway through the first half. Almost seemed satisfied with a 6 point defeat. No ambition at all.

Very scrappy game in Ballygarvan. Kiely very good for valleys. Wilson and lynch pick of a solid Douglas defence but seriously lacking in forwards. Must win games now for them

Lacking a scoring threat inside a big way it seemed. Could be how they set up more than not having the talent. Colm O’Callaghan only person to get 2 from play and he’s more of a middle third man. Need to find some scoring forwards if they want to progress at this level.

Eire Og badly lacking forward threat from play which is probably why they were a bit defensive. The Barrs were comfortable in second or third gear. Hayes did very well as a target man.

If Ben doesn’t choose a rugby career then his primary game will be hurling, but no doubt he would play both at club level. He will be a huge loss to us if he does go rugby

The two young lads O connor and the lad Twome who got 3 points especially the latter seems very natural when looking on stream, never knew they played football @red&blue. They not more known for hurling?
