The Munster Rugby Thread 2019/20

"Joey Carbery picked up a slight knock in training and was unavailable for selection." Shay McCarthy was injured in the match last week.

Munster: Mike Haley (Preston Grasshoppers); Seán O’Brien (Mullingar RFC), Antoine Frisch (Paris Université Club), Alex Nankivell (Christchurch Boys High School), Shane Daly (Highfield RFC); Tony Butler (Ennis RFC), Craig Casey (Shannon RFC); Josh Wycherley (Bantry Bay RFC), Niall Scannell (PBC Cork), John Ryan (Muskerry RFC); Tom Ahern (Youghal RFC), RG Snyman (Afrikaanse Hoër Seunskool); Ruadhán Quinn (Ballina-Killaloe RFC), Alex Kendellen (C) (PBC Cork), Gavin Coombes (Skibbereen RFC).

Replacements: Eoghan Clarke (CBC Monkstown), Jeremy Loughman (Athy RFC), Stephen Archer (Cork Constitution FC), Fineen Wycherley (Bantry Bay RFC), Jack O’Sullivan (Sunday’s Well RFC), Ethan Coughlan (Ennis RFC), Rory Scannell (PBC Cork), Ben O’Connor (Highfield RFC).

Interesting choice to put in what I presume are their first clubs, over half are from Cork. I wonder how many were given scholarships to join schools because most of those players did go to private school

Pity about Carbs, I'd have liked to see him again before he goes, but overall that's a good team.

We're heading up tomorrow for it, hopefully it's a bit feckin warmer than tonight 🥶

If Benetton are beaten at home by Glasgow and Bulls beat Stormers, then Munster will hang onto 5th which is a fair turn around.

Next two against Ospreys away and Cardiff at home are eminently winnable. After that it's a trip to SA, so wouldn't expect much of a return there
