A former schoolmate/neighbour of mine was found in water out by there around 2 years ago. They managed to track his phone signal as far as the water by Rochestown and then the signal was lost. Thankfully they found a body, it could easily have been swept away

Victim of Cork fire named as convicted killer Downey

The victim of a house fire in Cork yesterday afternoon has been named as 57-year old Conor Downey, a convicted killer who was sentenced to 12 years in jail for the indecent assault and attempted rape of a woman in the city in 1988.
