If global pollution was represented by a football stadium - say Pairc Ui Caoimh, then what size would Ireland's contribution be? Bigger or smaller than a single football? Yes we are all on this planet together, and yes there is a crisis looming, and yes we all need to do our part. And even if the Chinese and Yanks are going to be irresponsible and deny there's a crisis then we Irish still need to play our part.
But do the poor and squeezed middle really need to pay much more in taxes to heat their homes, to help subsidise cheaper flights for the well heeled while they gad about on airplanes which consume a lot more in terms of fossil fuels?
BTW Ryan, leader of the Green Party, was filmed driving around in a 2.5 litre Deisel car only yesterday. Not small and not clean either
