I think the back door for divisional finalists was passed tonight. Will take the edge off each divisional final but will make the county section a bit more competitive & probably won't lead to a lopsided draw, like there was last year.

No idea if the inter-divisional draws were made or not.

Hopefully they'll leave the draws until the divisional winners are known. You could have a situation where a club might be happy to lose a divisional final because the draw is perceived to be softer.

Wrong decision IMO, taking away from the prestige of winning the divisional title while adding another round of games in an already congested fixture list. I fear this is another small step in the demise of the divisions

I don't think anyone would want to lose a divisional final on purpose after getting to that stage. If you want to win a county, you'll have to beat the best so losing a final on purpose to try avoid a certain team or two is already a concession that you're not the best out there!

It's definitely another step in the demise of the divisions. It does take a small bit of edge off the final but as said above, I don't think any team would go out to lose a final.

It could lead to a few mind games though in that in the likes of Carbery, Muskerry and Duhallow, two teams could meet each other in a divisional final and again in a county final. Always going to be hard to beat a team the second time round especially at this level when there's not much between anyone.

It could also lead to a situation where a team could lose two games(first round & final) and still win a county. Not sure I totally agree with that!

As if it wasn't already hard enough to win a Junior County
This makes it tougher again

Do these 16 teams start off in their own County Championship then in 2018 or has that idea being scrapped
