Why exactly do Cork people hate Dublin people?

As a Dub living in Cork, can I ask, why exactly is it that you hate us so much? I am not on about Sporting rivalry now, I mean pure unadulterated genuine hatred for Dublin and Dubs. I don’t know you, I have never done anything to you, so why hate me. I regularly get comments thrown at me for my accent that if the reverse were to happen, ye would be on here giving out yards about it. Why is it ok for you to hate me but not vice versa? I love Cork and in general i get on great down here, but on a semi regular basis i get what can only be described as hateful and poisonous bile from lads, its always lads, who hate me for no other reason than my accent or my Dublin GAA jersey. I am not a k******, i am not a d4 knob i am a normal northside GAA loving Dub who lives in Cork and I just wanna be able to be myself in my own country without having to listen to anti-Dublin shite from pissheads who dont even know me.
The friendly City of Culture........so long as its your not from Dublin...........?

Small city syndrome.

Your prob right Pa, but only last night was out in town and has 2 seperate lads have a go at me verbally for no other reason than the accent. It wasnt good natured either. Its getting regular now. Used to Live in Limerick for a bit, got it a little there too but nothing like i do here. Thing is, on the whole I get on great here and love it, but this kinda shit spoils it for me.

If it is just your accent and nothing to do with your personality then I wouldn't be worried.

Slightly off topic.....I worked for a summer in Boston before, was working with a guy from Derry. Turns out for most of the summer he thought I was Welsh. I only found out the day before I left, got a good laugh out of it.

Probably because they're always moaning about why nobody likes them.
