Only found out today via maps it was called samphire island.
Asked what that was, I panicked and said “like cabbage”

Samphire is a "delicacy". A green sea plant that grows, amongst other places, under the lighthouse in Youghal, on the cliffs at Rocky Bay, the cliffs at Nohoval etc. City center chefs come down to pick it for their seafood meals. They also pick sea spinach at the west beach in Fountainstown and charge well for it. The locals are "unpleased".
