It’s what happens when you try too hard to correct wrongs such as intolerance, bigotry and spite. So hard in fact, that you yourself become spiteful, bigoted and intolerant.

But sure here’s the thing,outside of repeal the 8th and one or two others (home to vote ) the people who misinterpret and misuse woke don’t vote ,they just don’t vote .
It’s a lazy and selfish to snipe from the internet and not vote but that defines what woke has become ,
The wasted promise is scurrilous ,

The Hate speech bill I find a difficult one ,it’s needed on the one hand and on the other hand it’s been an absolute disaster in the uk ,the country would grind to a halt with all the imagined complaints of hate speech by well yes those who would misinterpret what it means to be righteously woke thus putting vulnerable sections at even more risk .

Plus it’s ruined comedy and old movies.Are disappearing

Being 'woke' back in the day was to wake up to historical injustices (against women and racial minorities primarily) and was a movement to correct these.

Banning racist dogs, prioritising one group over another for IVF, removing 'middle aged white' women from gardening has reduced the 'woke' movement to a joke and let the Daily Mail run riot with it.

Unfortunately that is the intrepretation of it today. People getting offended on behalf of others, for offence sake.
