Any advice I have just brought a car down south, how long before I have to change the plates and pay VRT ?

VRT is an illegal tax blocking free trade with our EU partners.

The gov get fined every year for it, but make so much money in VRT that they keep paying the fine.

It's not illegal, maybe against the the spirit of the EU
