werner herzog made 'little dieter needs to fly' a doc about a pilot who was shot down and captured in 'nam... and then 'rescue dawn' a feature film on the same subject with christian bale as dieter

Don't know if they made a movie on this book but they were supposed to - never heard of it myself though and have seen near on all the 'Nam films - Least the one's worth seeing.

Book was called 'Tunnel Rats' - guy's involved in it were instrumental in having the memorial wall built in Washington DC.

saw a great doc series on 'nam recently, think it was called 'vietnam: the lost films' or something like that - mighty good so it was

Vietnam the lost films was on the History channel a few weeks back and it was one of the best shows i have seen about the whole affair. Some of the stories from the lads when they came home were very sad.
