Thanks for the encouragement, we'll continue to try to improve the site as much as we can.

See how simple things were way back then?

Friendly, Henrys, The Main Drainage, etc.....

February 2001, hah?

Pre Cork GAA strikes, pre 9/11, pre Saipan, pre housing bubble. Only a month into Bush's presidency. More innocent times, indeed.

I was half-way through my first year in UCC. Don't think I even knew what a message board was back then.

I was in a jungle in South America doing a bit of to-ing and and fro-ing and I'm absolutely certain there was no internet connection there.

I was working as a waiter in a cocktail bar

The Briar Rose wasn't a cocktail bar, and it didn't have "waiters."

You were a lounge boy in a dodgy Douglas diner.

(I was watching "Miranda" last night, and for some reason kept thinking of you.)

It was a very nice restaurant in London's fashionable Clerkenwell. And it had a nice cocktail bar.

(that's really offensive)
