The Real football, real people thread

Chart your experiences of proper British footie in here.

Turned down a ticket for old toilet this Saturday for the chance to visit Loftus Road should be a cracker with the return of Glenn Hoddle to football

Great idea for a thread.

I think my favourite ground in British football is Ashton Gate. Old fashioned ground with a real intimate feel. Saw the Robins play out a pulsating 2-2 draw there against Newcastle in the 09/10 season. It kicked off good and proper outside as well. The Geordies are always well up for a bit of a scrap tbf.

Real football? I'll be in Tullamore for the Cork ladies v Mayo on the way to Dublin for the hurling.

Were you ever at a Millwall game? it gets proper naughty outside and inside the stadium

Hoping to visit Loftus Road myself in a couple of weeks. Looks a nice, tidy ground.

Saw games at Selhurst Park, Upton Park, Craven Cottage and the Emirates last season. Craven Cottage offers the best match day experience in London in my opinion. Selhurst Park is a bit of a kip of a stadium in a dodgy enough area, but the Palace ultras create a great atmosphere. Real sport, real people down at the Palace. A world removed from the sterile experience on offer at the Emirates, although the football is slightly better at the latter. Upton Park was a bit underwhelming in truth, both on and off the pitch.

The ground I am looking forward to visiting the most is Griffin Park, hopefully in September. Terracing behind the goals and apparently the only ground in England with a pub on every corner of the stadium. A pre-game pub crawl could get messy but it has to done.

been going to games since my first trip to the arsenal with my dad in august 1980 but have only been to a few other grounds, west ham twice, coventry ,orient, whl, wembley a couple of times but highbury roughly 60 games, emirates 20 plus games, also been to games in spain and germany which was great craic tbh but my fav ground will always be croke park watching cork win an all ireland.
