The Rangers FC (2012)

There were RUMOURS (look away now Earl) doing the rounds in Glasgow that Beale had been sacked/resigned with ra bers about to get Potter (ex Chelski and Brighton) in to replace him. Wishful thinking by some of the bluenoses though. But as they say in weegie land "his jaiket is on a very shoogly peg".

I still don't understand why they shafted GVB to bring in Micky Beale tbh, but having spent many millions in the summer they're getting anxious now that they're already 4 points behind after 4 league games.

It'll be interesting to see what happens in the coming days but I think they've a Europa game coming up next week and that could be make or break for Beale. If they lose that (just googled they're at home to Real Betis currently 7th in La Liga) then I think Beale is toast. The home crowd could drive the team on to victory or they could turn on the players like they did in the home game v Celtic.

Pressure!

Decent result away from home in Europe in CL qualifiers the other night, with a late late equalizer. They're in the box seat now to progress to the final qualifier round. Most agree they got a very easy draw compared to what it could have been.

If, and they're probably slight favourites to do it now, they qualify for the CL proper, they'll get a circa 60M bonanza which will likely keep the wolf from the door for another few years anyway.
12M minimum if they don't get past Dynamo Kiev, 16.29M min if they do. Then another(?) 43M if they get past the winners of Twente or RB Salzburg. That's very serious money and could go towards paying off a lot of soft loans.

VERY important games in the coming weeks for ra bers.

As they're likely to be Celtic's biggest domestic rivals for a while I keep an occasional eye on them - know yer enemy  . Don't watch their matches, but am happy to check their results to see if they've lost. They were in serious financial trouble (again) over the summer, but this CL money could keep them afloat for years longer.

It’s a pub league. Couldn’t be any less interested in it. Even if Celtic win the league (which I obviously prefer over The Rangers) it doesn’t matter a bit because they’re so far off it they do shit in Europe anyway.
