There’s a big difference between defending Trent in the context of saying that the team will find it hard to win games with him in the team and hyping him up. I am well aware of his defensive frailties but I also am well aware of his clear attacking class.

I wouldn’t be shocked if Slot has a role for him in midfield especially as part of the 2 in a 4-2-3-1. That might be best for everyone especially with Bradley emerging and Gomez after a very steady season.

Id say the next coach will find a role for him alright

I know nothing about this guy, it’s gonna be a big step up with the pressure.

Do Liverpool have a big transfer budget for him?
Probably not. It probably won’t be small either but it will depend on what the club generate in transfers but I’d be expecting the club to be clever in the market as opposed to being obvious.
No matter who takes over, that'll be the reaction.
