The next Government

Who will form the next government

  • Total voters
    56
  • Poll closed .
They were the ONLY party in tune with public sentiment on the March referendum.

I don't know a single person happy with the direction the country is headed. How 40% are happy to endorse more of the same just shows a massively cowed electorate.
At the end of the day, plenty will think "I'm alright Jack" and vote to maintain the status quo. "Housing situation is brutal and heath service a shambles but I picked up a new car earlier in the year and had two foreign holidays."

I'm in that category tbh, I will be f8cked if I'm going to vote for anyone that is going to take money out of my pocket to help proles that won't get out out of their own way to help themselves.
However, I won't lower my self to vote for the blueshirts, any party that thinks that McEntee is a capable politician let alone a minister needs their head read.

Looking at it now there won't be a Government formed without Fianna Fail being in it.
FG will not coalesce with SF and vice versa. A SF led grand coalition of the left is a possibility but very unlikely.
This leave either a Government with FG /FF or a gov with SF/FF. Thats the choices I think and therefore FF are in a strong position to be part of next administration.

Was only thinking same last night, FF have more potential partners than FG,
The grand coalition of the left is a non runner,

I don't know where this idea of a possible FF/SF coalition is coming from, it's pure nonsense and will never happen. More of a chance of a FG/SF one while Mehole is at helm. So no chance

If you're one of the rural/inner city communities that have been thrown to the wolves at the altar of 'integration' I don't think you will be giving the parties of government anything other than two fingers.

As an aside I hate that moniker for FF leader . Yes I agree I don't think he will ever lead FF into coalition with SF but something that could be a runner after an election is a potential FF/SF and other coalition with Micheál Martin stepping aside as leader to run for the presidency in 2025 as the FF candidate with implicit SF support by them not putting up a candidate against him .

SF have already approached Jarlath Burns to stand
