He was on The Late Late Show only a few months ago saying anyone behaving like that towards officials should receive a lifetime ban, obviously he meant anyone else besides himself.

He had a right to be a bit peeved at the time. I think myself the umpire just guessed and got it right. The replay showed it was a Clare ball but you'd have to be some man to spot it in the moment. I agree Davy went overboard but emotions are high in the moment. I know from playing myself years back. Trying to catch yourself is tricky.

We were on the receiving end of some bullshit calls last year so swings and roundabouts.

This is the most contrived bullshit controversy yet, it was clearly the ref who was excellently positioned who gave the 65 an it was a 65, a big mistake from de burca. The umpire didn’t see it but was simply signalling the 65 as he is supposed to do.

That was my take too. You can see the umpire looks out at the ref who tells him award the 65

Tipp hurling in huge trouble. Spoke to a good few Tipp people after the game who are really concerned that they just don't seem to be producing top class players. Reckon they'll be in trouble for a few years.
