The Hurling Thread

Not a final for the ages or anything like it but delighted to see KK smashed out the gates :)

the first half was one of the poorest halves of hurling I’ve seen in a while, all physicality and light on hurling, but once Limerick got the juggernaut going they absolutely destroyed KK in every line - they’re some team. I knew Lynch would be instrumental yesterday, he owed them one for a poor year overall.. what a hurler. Casey put on an astounding show of scoring as well, Byrnes has to be played of the year.. I think he had 8 points from half back yesterday!

Hats off to Limerick, over to Pat Ryan now to find a way.. Rebels Abu :)

I thought the first 50 minutes was a very good game. I really enjoyed the heavy hits and physical battle.

Limerick gave a second half performance for the ages. Nobody would have lived with them yesterday. Cork will hopefully make progress next year but I wouldn’t want to be playing Limerick in Croke Park before you have to. They’re almost unbeatable up there.

The half time score was 1-9 to 0-9 I think, very poor by any standards. The physical stuff and the hits should be secondary to the hurling, not the other way around. Limerick coming out then and hitting 21 points is insane stuff, and that’s with Gillane having a quiet afternoon by his own standards!

They’ll have to be knocked out earlier in the comp as they’re unstoppable in Croker as you say.

Can he not let bygones be bygones, when you compare his attitude to that of Sean Og and his recent interview on OTB with reference to that Kilkenny team . One is a man the other a nasty little weasel.

Thats a shocking comment.

Far too many here very bitter about the strikes and with a serious axe to grind with Donal Og. Get over yourself.

He was instrumental in our last 3 Senior All Ireland wins.

Those kind of remarks belong in the gutter and would be immediately challeneged if they were made about a player from another county. Sad we tolerate that about one of our own.

I liked it because both teams especially Limerick had to work really hard to get scores. With that wind a 3 point advantage for Kilkenny was nothing. They should have had 1-15 on the board to have had a decent chance.

Twas a shit final.

The bookies were spot on it being a mismatch. How many here seemed to think Limerick were to be given a game is bewildering.

Kilkenny with a couple of goals to keep it respectable and the had no answer to Limerick in the final 30 mins.

As one sided as Waterford in 08 or us more recently.

Talks of us sticking it to Limerick next year are bizarre. We won one game this year. Clare or Galway are miles off them too. They'd want to have a serious drop off to not make it five, too many fellas in or around their peak for that to happen imo.

Can't under stand it myself, should all be water under the bridge by now. He is coming across as very bitter, no need for it

Hes offering a paid opinion on a game.

Those levelling personal abuse at him are way out of line. He regularly gets loads of it from the same four or five posters here.

Nothing very 'manly' about it.
