Re-Upholstery

Has anyone ever had a go at this on anything at all ?
From a seat cushion to a sofa to a car interior ?

I have a 30 odd year old Mini and the interior is...original.
I know some nerds in the car world love this fact and will hate me for this, but I want shot of it.
I want to make it more comfortable.

Anyways
I'm looking at the better part of a grand if I swap out the seat foams and everything and some people online are saying have a go myself.
Only these people know what they're doing.

Anyone here ever had a bash at anything along these lines? and if so can they give me an idea of how hard this is for a complete novice ?

I'd start off with the door cards or something relatively simple before moving along to the back seat , front seats...maybe even the dash ?

you could probably buy a second hand interior in good condition for relatively cheap in the UK. In fact id say the cost of getting it reupholstered would probably be more expensive, plus you could sell the existing interior.

It's a Mini though, so anything used is also either worn out (seating anyways) or expensive as it's "original".

Good shout on re-selling the interior though, for some reason this had not occurred to me at all!
