PGA Tour are to scrap qualifying school route

Not sure what to make of this to be honest. Are the big names being protected and does this make it harder for an up and coming talent to emerge?

Not a bad idea. The Q-school is one of the biggest ball breakers in sport and can break a career before it starts. Basically, it would be like a soccer playerwho hit a bad run of form, like Fernando Torres, or someone who was injured for a lot of the season, having to play in a tournament at a weekend in August to see if they would play in the Premier League the next year.

I would not fully agree with it. They will be excluding some of the Brilliant Amateur players and Club pros who normally go through the full qualifying route.

Agreed it makes it harder for a talented nobody to get on tour now. Extra money needed to fund a year on the nationwide while providing a safety blanket of sorts to established pros.
