Official World Cup 2022 Thread

It’s going to be unmercifully hot out there’ll lads. It’s not exactly one of the booze capitals of the world, the local totty will be all covered up and forgot about visiting the local red light as part of your itinerary. A piss pot edition of the world’s greatest sports event, there’s always Germany 24 to look forward to.

No doubt there’ll be some excellent football on show though and we’ll be treated to the inflated expectations of the english press as they herald each SUMPTUOUS display of their ‘flair’ players (erm Sterling, Grealish etc) before imploding on cue in the quarters.

Thanks be to god we won't qualify.

Germany the first team to qualify so, Denmark could also secure their spot tonight

Denmark have cantered through their group - 27 scored, zero conceded. Two of their games were 1-0 so they've smashed the other matches - e.g. went down to Vienna and thrashed the locals 0-4.

They are a very interesting team - great team spirit and no superstars. No question they have improved steadily since Eriksen's misfortune in June. Now that he's gone, the team is far more balanced.

Just 5.8 million people living there. You look at the teams they've produced over the years and you can see how we have under-achieved.
