Say what you will about him . He definitely has an ego. It drives him . He is actually a very good man manager and good with his time in terms of the community. He is not seen as obnoxious by those he is good to and that is probably the best you can hope for as a leader of a club like like Shels.

Also he is able to surround himself well despite the ego and in Joey O Brien and Luke Byrne he has very strong lieutenants who he will have to battle now to hang on to.

I’m not his biggest fan but having an outspoken character like Duff around who’s been at the very top of the game is good for the league of Ireland, he’s single handily raised the profile of the league this season and has definitely put more eyes on the game which can only be a good thing for all concerned with regards sponsorship, advertising revenue.

Obviously on a lot smaller scale but similar to what McGregor done for the UFC, he got people interested with all his shit talk. They have a lot in common two annoying Dublin dopes that know how to attract attention.

Would it be fair to say Duff has taken the 3rd or 4th best squad in the league to the title? He's certainly transformed Shels with a change of ownership in the middle of all that.

Kenny really got Pats motoring too in the final third of the season.
