Official Cork City FC/LOI thread!

Duffer has Shelbourne within touching distance of the title

Shelbourne played their part in City’s maiden title win in ‘93 in that strange mini tournament with Bohs but also bought many titles & took away Pat Morley & Ollie C

Would City fans prefer them back at the top as being marginally better than either another dose of rovers or a Derry reemergence?

Or is it all the same?

would like to see somone other than rovers win. would probably slightly favour derry over shels.

not so sure about touching distance! shels in poor form, think it's one win in 7 and that was v dundalk. huge weekend for them with 2 home games v sligo tonight then pats on monday.

Sligo are very consistent & often dangerous to be fair to them .. but if Shels can’t get the win tonight it’s a very poor form line (as you rightly said) .. I’d like to see Duff win - he’s the only top Irish player who came back ( since Johnny Giles anyway)

Apart from the 3 at the bottom the league’s pretty condensed ( & bohs will surely be better next season) … I’m not sure if that’s good or bad for City … they’ll have to scrap for every point but a reasonable return should see them mid table at worst

Derry all the way. Their fans are sound. Had a great night with them after the grand finale of 2005.
Tipped them 4 the double( candy stripes)
I've a few grandsons die hards ,one bollox told me he wouldn't wear the CCFC top I was sending him up last Christmas ?

Great ppl ,Cork and Derry city a lot in common,2 Nd cities, sports mad, Cork/ Derry. Nothing else matters etc
