Motorsport 2021

Being realistic, Charles is more a number 2 driver than Carlos. Maybe he'll take a year out and join Audi in 2026?

Definitely not. Leclerc will be razor keen to show he is an equal to Hamilton next season. Ferrari are usually a basket-case so Hamilton will be hoping to emulate Schumacher and raise them up from the doldrums to make them winners. But Schuie was in his prime when he joined from Benetton and didn't spend his time whingeing about things.

Hamilton to Ferrari is very strange.
Ferrari on the bendy circuits proved they could challenge Red Bull.
But on straight line speed - they were nowhere.
Plus a bigger issue was their reliability.

What is Hamilton gaining from going there apart from financially obviously?

He's hoping that history repeats itself. Change of regulations in 2026 akin to the change in 2014 when Merc supplanted Red Bull as the dominant car/engine combo.
There might be an element of Vasseur hoping that Hamilton can drive higher standards in the Ferrari team too, which can't be a bad thing.

Reports of 100 mill a year, 20 more than Max's reported wage.

"Chairman John Elkann will also ensure that Hamilton's diversity and inclusion projects are embraced"
