Micheál Martin = Ireland's Worst Ever Party Leader

You're taking the piss again. Your thread title had merit. He's been a poor leader. Far from being an incompetent politician.

He gave us the monolithic HSE and was famous as a Minister for commissioning reports into problems and then doing nothing with the conclusions while in power.

What has Micheál Martin (FF) achieved in his career? Absolutely nothing! Would this country be better off if he had never entered politics? Absolutely!

Martin is the dope who established the HSE and we all know how that turned out! He was also a leading member of the government that bust the country and gave away our sovereignty.

Martin actively participated in successive governments that refused to invest in flood defences and refused to regulate the building/housing industry. We heard nothing from Martin while this was going on! Furthermore, he was as quiet as a mouse, while the same governments failed to regulate the banks and their disgraceful lending practices.

He is a poor party leader but a very shrewd politician. Smoking ban. As for the health service I'd refer posters to the defence of the current government's record on health posted by their supporters.

The smoking ban had been pioneered in California years earlier. Martin just looked on the Internet for a policy that was already being adopted elsewhere. If Martin didn't bring this in, someone else would have. He knew that and we know that.

With all the FF'ers and Shinners on here complaining about Enda's lack of charisma and general all round uselessness, any half decent politician worth their salt would be making mincemeat out of him at every Leader's Questions.

That is why Me-Hole and Gerry are more to be pitied than laughed at.

More importantly what has he done for Cork ?

Apart from regurlarly destroying Gerry Adams in debates what exactly is he and his party for anyway ?
