Has sadly passed away following a fall at thurles races, only 24, from lombardstown.

Extremely sad news about Michael O' Sullivan's passing. A very popular lad in the weighroom and an excellent jockey. He was one of the top young talents in Irish Horse Racing at the moment. Only 24 years old and already a two-time Cheltenham winner. He comes from the well known horse racing family, the O' Sullivans of Lombardstown, Mallow. His Dad William was a Cheltenham winner himself back in the 90s and his uncle Eugene is a very successful horse trainer. Extremely tough on Michael's family. It shows how jockeys put their lives at risk every day they ride out, all for the love of the sport and for the love of horses. May Michael rest in peace.
