[QUOTE="Corcaigh32, post: 5588302, member: 9332"] Soundman - I used to be (a long time ago) a national officer of FF. I have even campaigned in Committee of 15 elections (when it was 15) on numerous occasions. I know they are not as influential as say, the 1922 committe of the Tory party in England. Gerry Adams needs to go because he is a focal point for SF's opponents and while to republicans, they see no issue, the real politique of things especially in the 26 counties are, the voters who SF want to and NEED to attract will not cross the rubicon while he is leader. Why? Because every time a report like this comes out, and God knows it was brought out yesterday for precisely this effect, it brings any progress SF have made with respect to attracting floating voters back months (or years). Bear in mind I have voted for SF and consider myself a republican. There is a gaping chasm of logic between internal SF electoral strategy and the range of forces ranged against them in the 26 and the 6, in England, Dublin and in the media. I genuinely thought that the MacGuinness presidential campaign would have been built on in this regard by now. Instead and maybe directly BECAUSE, MLMcD / PD are not Northern SF people and did not live through the troubles, the work they are doing is being undermined when reports like this come out. It gives plenty of ammunition (pun intended), to SF's enemies. That's why the party needs to join the 21st century politically and electorally in the 26 counties to a level where they are already in the North. To do that, like it or not, Adams has to go.
