I met him once about 6 years ago on a flight from Boston. I was bumped up to first class, a rare happening.
He had the trademark cap on and knew that I recognized him. The lad I was with didn't know who he was and couldn't understand why I acted as if I shared the plane with U2, the Pope and Jimi Hendrix.
When we landed we both got up to get our stuff, he was on the other side of the isle. I looked over at him and just said something silly like "wow, how ya doing"....
He knew I recognized him and was such an absolute gentleman. He smiled at at me, seemed happy & surprised that someone my age knew who he was.
People with that charisma and talent are few and far between. I'll remember him every time I sing one of his many great ballads.
RIP Liam, you'll live forever through your music.
