Kilshannig are a team on the ascendancy in both codes. A serious well of talent there, strong and very fit. I do think Clyda will be the team to beat in North Cork though. Glanworth don't seem to be the force they once were and if Condon is held or has a bad day they really struggle.
I agree. It is looking like Kilshannig are finding their groove again this year. Similar to last year, they began the year with injuries and lads away but as the campaign went on, more players became available and they got stronger and ended up in 2 County finals. It is now looking like they are the team to beat again this year. They've put a huge amount of effort into both codes as well as their S&C and it is showing now.
On Dromina, they seem to be a club that have stagnated a bit at this level. They won the 2014 North Cork Final and famously beat Ballyhooly by a late goal in 2017 but they haven't made a final since. Take out the 2 Buckleys, Davy Jones and 2 or 3 others and their age profile is fairly high. They do have Johnny Murphy and Chris Dunne to come in next year who will help them stay competitive at this grade.
I agree with others here saying that Clyda Rovers will be next favourites to Kilshannig. Conor Corbett seems to be hurling well for them and they have Ben Nyhan who is a year older now. But LC Gaels are a club ticking nicely too. Thry beat Clyda in the North Cork U21 B Final a few weeks ago. They will take stopping too. Glanworth are the best of the rest then. Davy Pyne and Thomas Condon will be back from suspension and Seán Finn is nursing an injury. With a full compliment, they will be in with a shout too.
Charleville's 2nd team aren't as strong this year. Danny O' Flynn has recommited to their seniors and the likes of Jack Buckley and Tim Hawe are back full time with the seniors. Mark Kavanagh is out injured too. They would have been dark horses otherwise.
Ballyhooly without Seán Linehan, Darragh O' Reilly, James Roche and Barry Johnson, have to be ruled out of contention. They still have a chancecto get out of the group but they have to come up against a dogged Shanballymore side. Killavullen have been this coming team the last few years. The talent is there but the mentality to close out games isn't there yet. They could still beat Dromina which will be an interesting game in the final round of that group.
