Well easy to condemn from 300 miles away
Do any of you know his family background?
His dad interned for nothing
Family broke up
He comes from a background of British ?? harassment in and around Dungiven when being a RC or nationalist or just a GAA member could and did in fact result in ppl getting murdered for their Christian or sporting beliefs in our national games,
All murders are regrettable
But the Ireland ?? of 1920
And 1969- 1999 were different and difficult times for nationalist ppl
Personally I don’t particularly like Brolly
Like some of his stuff ,
Admired his dad Francie who went through the mill ref Brit torture/ beatings/ imprisonment
And his stance on abortion which led in turn to him departing SF
Over their anti abortion stance.
As a nationalist, republican, GAA member and full time hurling coach in Derry during the troubles
I can categorically state the 6 counties was a difficult place to raise a family, work, practice your religion or promote our sports,
We were classed as 3 rd class citizens when it came to work, education, housing
NO MORE
The dogs tail now wags the dog,
There were horrific things done by all sides,
I’ve 16 grandchildren
2 great grandchildren in Derry and Crossmaglen
2 in Queens university atm
Want them to live and prosper in an equal society
Getting there thankfully.
If we want everyone to condemn every murder,
Every wrong
Every act of war
Etc etc etc
The 6 counties will never be allowed to heal!
