Unusual that a whole town is up in arms and protesting over an alleged horrific assault and you think it deliberately shouldn't be on the news!!

Are you well in the head? You sure as fuck wouldn't have that opinion if it happened your family.

The likes of o Dywer are idiots. People have the capacity to see that. They don't need unearned patronising shit from the likes you trying to warp a narrative.

So if it happened to a family member of course I’d want a media circus around it with the added bonus of an interview from a Citizen Journalist giving an accurate narrative and analysis!! That would really help my relation and bringing the perp(s) to justice wouldn’t it.

An absolutely horrific situation that both extremes, right and left will end up having an intellectual debate about as another town rots.

You know the score straight away when there's no national coverage on a story like this.

Seems to be a two tier hierarchy depending on the nationality of those committing an offence.

Same here with the usual crew trying to shut down discussion because of fugees or asylum seekers involved.

Onreal. Sends the totally wrong message to perpetrators also.

Justice should be served in public equally. Same standards should apply to all in reporting.

Seeing some posters saying that horrific assaults news reports should be suppressed is an eye opener to me tbh.

Interesting editorialising. Pravda would be proud.

Exact same when RTE omitted the nationality of the attackers when that Canadian tourist was kicked to death in Dublin during the summer. The Toronto Herald had no issue reporting they were Romanian nationals.

It's a fright to God they can no longer be trusted just to honestly report the basic information of stories as they happen.

If the intent is to minimise the reporting of migrant crime then I would say it's totally counter productive and just erodes public trust in the news coming from legacy outlets.



Anyways, thoughts with the victim and his family. Hopefully the perpetrators are caught and prosecuted with the full rigour of the law.
