How much sleep do you get

Don't know if this has been posted, but this is a good read.

Haven’t looked into it too deeply but I think the sleep nerds have a problem with that guy

I get about 8 hours. But it’s broken. Nightmares every night. They’re horrific I wake up sweating. I’d love to find a solution but I’m not hopeful.

I went through very traumatic stuff in the last few years so it’s probably my brain working through it. I suppose I’m lucky I don’t have insomnia! I really feel for people who have that.
I promise you I'm not making this up as your nightmares are nothing to joke about. I have also mentioned it here before.

Used to get sleep paralysis and it was terrifying. I'd have the same dream everytime where a hag would be sitting on top of me, she was skin and bone with long straw like grey hair and sunken eyes.

I'd scream but no voice would come out and my whole body would be paralyzed.
This went on intermittently for years.
Woke early one morning and the wife asked - who's Margaret?.
I had been telling her about the dream for years and she heard me say 'go away Margaret'.

Since that day the dream has thankfully not reoccurred. "Even Margaret had the sense not to take on the wife," lol.

In real life I'll face everything down immediately rather than worry about something. The wife thinks these episodes are my mind resetting itself as she thinks fear is a defence mechanism you have to have to survive. She could be right, but for me Margaret was very real whenever she visited.

You say you had a lot of trauma and you think your nightmares are your brain working through it. You could very well be right too. Hope they end for you soon. 🤞
