I see that the rugby club known as Dolphin are trying to recruit more kids to take up rugby, tbh I find this concerning in the light of what's coming to light about ex players suffering from serious health issues.

A root and branch reform of the sport is urgently needed to take the physicality out of it and to make it a safer & gentler game.

Rugby is non-contact for the younger age groups.

I seem to remember mine making and receiving tackles at 7-8 years of age.

Scrums and line-outs are non-competitive until under 12/13 and tackling only at about 9/10 years of age afaik.

It has to change though as players have to be protected at all levels.
