Progress has been made.
But the underlying causes still exist.
Both communities still live separately and don't mix all that much. Parades, flags and emblems are still contentious, and trust between both sides in lower than it has been for years.

In the short term, maybe.
In the long term though they've been used to keep the hate.
Great that the killing has stopped. It just seems a little like a lost 20 years of a stop-gap measure that hasn't really fulfilled it's true value.
And the main man himself John Hume
Hume who came up with the the power-sharing Sunningdale Agreement, Anglo-Irish Agreement and the Belfast Agreement.
He won the Nobel Peace Prize along with David Trimble.
