That said, 12 is too young IMO for any form of 'sex books'. I thought YA books were directed at older teenagers? but I know very little about it tbh. I'd prefer my kid to have a dumbphone and internet access at home, but from what I can recall a lot of ways are interacting with friends don't have PC apps, just phone apps. And there's almost no chance I'd keep a determined 13 year old from getting a hidden smartphone if I tried.
