There's a notion that it was Saudi money. The DUP have claimed that they don't know it's source, which, under law means it needs to be repaid. Also, it's illegal if it's from a foreign government. I'd say we haven't heard the end of this yet.
To be fair to Rev Iain Paisley - he was a lot of things - but I don't think a guy taking backhanders was one of them. Same couldn't be said of Arlene and a few of her current DUP head honchos mind
