Dr Eva Newstalk interview about fatties

I think that's overly simplistic, tbh.

When I was young I worked retail and I would be absolutely wrecked after a days work. I can't imagine doing that work at my age now, and then coming home to cook a meal. I think that long hours, particularly at physical work, makes it really difficult to manage proper meals.

It's fine to say that cooking for your kids should be top priority, but the reality is that it can't be a priority over paying the mortgage.

Also, fine to say that cooking is a skill that any parent should have, but where do they learn it? I learned to cook from my mother. I didn't learn it at school, or any where else, so presumably if my mother couldn't cook then I would struggle to do so as well.
My mother is a decent enough cook, and my siblings are probably all better than me. My daughter is very good too, thankfully. It is no joke working full time and trying to make dinners from scratch. Also, if any of you are cooking for just one, like I do, it is a pain too.

Would you batch cook?

Stop making excuses for people who can't be bothered to cook healthy nutritious meals for their children.

Cooking is a basic skill that any parent should have, giving your kids home cooked dinners should be a top priority, not something to be pushed to the side by other factors.
Well said Jasmin, if you don't have time to prepare healthy meals for you kids don't have them. Proccing and work is way more important

I'm not making excuses I'm presenting possible reasons why perhaps the fresh wholesome homemade meal times have fallen by the wayside.

I also agree home cooked meals instead of fast food is preferable btw.

But I wager there are a lot of parents who at times have used convenience foods. And as has been discussed here some processed food is not great.

Not sure why you are addressing what I'm saying with such venom. It's only a discussion.

I see Lidl have wetsuits on offer from next Monday, but they only go up as far as XL, this is pure discrimination against those of us who are XXL.

I'll be writing a letter of complaint to the manager about this.
No need for wetsuits at this time of year anyway. Straight in with the togs on. Twil do you good.
