Our local datacentre (CIX in Holyhill) are way ahead of the game it seems - they've installed a pile of solar panels over the last few years up there - I recall seeing Jerry (owner) posting on linkedin a while back that they're actually generating all their own power at this stage and actually feeding energy back into the grid. That should be par for the course for all these centres - would go a very long way towards resolving energy issues.

Fully agree. The other thing is that they could be doing something with all the heat that's being dumped. District heating is one option. Using it for horticulture is another. Distilling is a third. You could also heat a pool.

He is indeed- I've spent a fair whack of time up there, and looking at another 3 to 4 months later this year for another project build - he loves to get the hands dirty as well - a proper techie!
