Cyclists

The High King, an unassuming ruler by day, found himself drifting into a daydream during his regal journey back to the castle. Amidst the regal sounds of horses' hooves and the murmur of the kingdom, his mind wandered into a world where he wasn't managing his kingdom but was the unexpected hero of a thrilling scenario.

In his vivid imagination, The High King envisioned himself at the helm of a majestic carriage, drawn by powerful steeds. The clatter of hooves echoed, and the wind rustled through his royal robes as he traversed the cobbled streets, lost in the grandeur of his own daydream.

Suddenly, the daydream took an unexpected turn as he witnessed a reckless cyclist, a modern interloper, weaving through the busy streets and running a red light at a bustling intersection. The clash of metal and the shouts of nearby citizens disrupted the usual tranquility of his mind's kingdom. The High King's heart raced, and his inner hero emerged.

With a regal wave of his hand, he commanded the traffic lights to flicker with an ethereal glow. In his mind's eye, he watched as the intersection transformed into a mystical barrier, compelling the reckless cyclist to halt in awe. The High King reveled in the triumph of his royal command, averting disaster with a stroke of his imaginary scepter.

As the once-reckless cyclist hesitated, The High King continued his majestic journey, leaving the intersection bathed in the mystical radiance of his regal authority. Back in reality, he continued his journey, lost in thoughts of treaties and royal affairs. Little did the world know, behind his royal demeanor, The High King was a hero in the vibrant realms of his imagination, where regal decrees saved the day, one royal proclamation at a time.

Things Can Only Get Better"

We're not scared to lose it all
Your bike and body thrown through the wall
Future dreams we have to realize
A thousand skeptic drivers
Won't keep us from the things we plan
Unless we're cycling in the lane we prize

And do you feel scared, I do
But I won't stop at red lights and falter
And if we threw it all away
Things can only get better

Whoa whoa whoa-oh-oh whoa-whoa whoa-oh-oh
(Whoa whoa whoa-oh-oh whoa-whoa whoa-oh-oh)
Whoa whoa whoa-oh-oh whoa-whoa whoa-oh-oh
(Whoa whoa whoa-oh-oh whoa-whoa whoa-oh-oh)

Treating today as though it was
The last, the final show
Get to sixty kph on Carr's hill and feel no regret
It may take a little time
A lonely path, an uphill climb
Success or failure will not alter it

And do you feel scared, I do
And I won't stop at red lights and falter
And if we threw it all away
Things can only get better

Whoa whoa whoa-oh-oh whoa-whoa whoa-oh-oh
(Whoa whoa whoa-oh-oh whoa-whoa whoa-oh-oh)

Wank will have a conniption when he sees the article.
Rent free in Fermoy.
Articles like the above don't bother me, it just highlights the incompetence of the police in charge of road safety.

Stuff like this should be taken more seriously though.

Gains made in the decline of drink driving have been almost lost and replaced by drivers under the influence of drugs, according to the Garda Commissioner.

Drew Harris said huge efforts have been made in terms of educating the motoring public to the risks, along with other partners.

"Regrettably we are now seeing things like drink driving - which was falling back and was on long-term decline - those gains have now been almost lost by that being replaced by individuals driving under the influence of drugs," Commissioner Harris said.

Perhaps that explains the increased carnage on our roads?
Drivers are more coked out of it, driving dangerously and erratically and thus causing harm to others.

All together now.

On Sunday afternoon, shortly after 2pm, the young boy was knocked down by a car in Cluain Airne.

Family sources have confirmed to The Clare Echo that the boy has been moved by ambulance from University Hospital Limerick to Temple Street Hospital in Dublin shortly before 9pm but remains in a critical condition.

The 10-year-old boy is on life support.
Speed was a contributing factor.

Local residents have for many years been campaigning for measures to be enacted to slow the down drivers in the area and have been vocal in highlighting the dangers along the stretch of road.
