Cork Hurlers - Part 2

Don’t understand why people get so upset about a team being named late?

I assume players know before public do about who will be playing. Other than people having more time to bitch and moan about the selection on here, what benefit is there to naming it any earlier than Saturday night?

On the stats side yes it does give opposition less time to carry out analysis on how we are lining out, which is never a bad thing.

Also, if a player is struggling with an injury and needs to do a fitness test on the Saturday to make sure he’s right to play, does it not make sense to name the team after this happens?

If there is a benefit to it being released to the public early then I’m happy to hear it. But just not aware of any reason myself as of now.
My favourite is the journalists losing their shit over how they are supposed to promote the game if the teams aren't announced the thursday night. This is going to come as a massive shock to UEFA and FIFA.

Cahalane injured, Downey full back and mark Keane full forward,

Weird choice considering they had plenty of chances to play Mark Keane and choose not to 🤔
Panic, that’s what that is, give the baying crowd a ball winning foward and if it doesn’t work they can defend themselves when they go back to the speedsters

And a very easy target for the hurling snobs on here too, especially if Damo is out
