Cork County Developments

There's a thread for Cork Developments, which seems to cover the city area only (or mainly). Space for a county developments thread, methinks.

To set the ball rolling, the County Council have big plans to develop the Dursey Island area as a big tourist attraction. New cable car, interpretative centre and a few more things. The Castletownbere area badly needs a standout attraction to grow the tourist business there. This could be it. Fabulous scenery and hill walking, on their own, aren't enough.

And the Friends of the Earth are objecting to the development. What a shower.

Pardon the term, but on what grounds are they objecting?

Everything in rural parts.

The moan and whinge about little or no investment then object to communications masts, wind turbines, utilities, factories, housing and commercial development, roads and bridges etc. and then complain about the "death of rural Ireland"

Which is why all their kids go to college in the cities and then stay there.

Lets start a fucking Peoples Republic Of County Cork.

You're as bad as the deluded pricks who insist on capitalising the "w" in "west Cork."

That is some press release by the Friends of the Earth. The stopped short of saying that the proposed development at Dursey Island was a crime against humanity.

Maybe they should be called fiends of the earth.

Tom Connolly between Leamlara and Ballincurrig has applied for planning permission to extend his kitchen.
He's going for a single story extension of 35sq mtrs so the jokes on him. He doesn't even need planning permission. Good man Tom.
