Sad alright. Is it unusual for their funerals/cremations to happen together? I recall past murder cases like this where they'd be buried separately. You're not really going to rest in peace next to the person who murdered you like.

I think sometimes people do it in shock and regret it afterwards (that's what happened in the Clodagh Hawe case iirc). I suppose cremation might be different. The family can decide later what to do with the ashes.

I think the case in my mind was that absolutely dreadful incident up in Kanturk a few years ago. One of the sons and the mother had their own funeral and were buried together, away from the father and the other son. That was one disgusting case.

Awful stuff. People live under such terrible fear, often with others not knowing anything about it until it is too late.

Awful stuff. I don't want to introduce a hierarchy of victimhood but this poor woman will barely be remembered nationally while other people murdered in different circumstances will be well known across all aspects of society for a long long time. And that's not in any way to discredit any other person who was murdered.

Also I find it utterly bizarre that a person would ever be buried with their murderer. I get that it must be a very difficult circumstance for family members who have to organise arrangements in the immediate aftermath but I doubt many people murdered would agree to their final resting place being next to their murderer.
