Batsh*t Crazy Green Party

Yeah not a fan of her either. There have been plenty of useless male presenters too. Marty is stealing a living to be honest.

Marty (aka BettyBoo) is a "bogger" version of Tubridy. "Talent" that we couldn't possibly do without - until they've tried their luck elsewhere and disappeared without trace on a fraction of the salary. At least Marty has an interest in the game and actually played it to some level. But he's, male and stale, and without the fake tan would be west-Clare pale too.

So I think it’s good that RTÉ is trying to be more inclusive. When the likes of Marty retire it’ll be refreshing to see a more diverse panel on TSG and on commentary. Same with all RTÉ on air programmes. Absolutely people should get a job based on talent but in my opinion setting targets for race, LGBT+ etc ensures that recruiters do not overlook people who have in the past been overlooked. Affirmative action has many benefits and there’s plenty of evidence to back this up.

Just hire the best person for the job.

What your sexuality, gender choice or the religion you adhere to is your very own private business.

No wonder our public services are focked.

What next?

Hire 1.5% Star Wars or Taylor Swift obsessives?

100%,

Id have to look the relevant EU employment law but hiring on the basis of sexuality/preferred sex sounds like a fairly shaky position.

Any area that's engaged in this positive discrimination has had pretty predictable results. People not qualified for the job getting hired and a lot of workplace resentment.

More 'progressive' claptrap.

A completly focked and badly run RTE appointing someone from an underrepresented self-identifying minority into a role without considering whether they have all right skills for the role?

Judging on past results at RTE that has always been the case.

If they are sacked due to poor performance they can then claim discrimination?

Other candidates who may be better qualified and experienced are passed over as a result.
