NEW from DUP: “The Party Chairman has received a letter from Sir Jeffrey Donaldson MP confirming that he has been charged with allegations of an historical nature and indicating that he is stepping down as Leader of the Democratic Unionist Party with immediate effect. In accordance with the Party Rules, the Party Officers have suspended Mr Donaldson from membership, pending the outcome of a judicial process. The Party Officers have this morning unanimously appointed Mr Gavin Robinson MP as the Interim Party Leader."

Jeffrey Donaldson’s wife Eleanor is facing criminal charges as part of the case against her husband, the Sunday Independent can reveal.

Mr Donaldson (61) — who quit as DUP leader on Friday after his arrest — is charged with rape, gross indecency and multiple counts of indecent assault.

It has since emerged that his wife of 36 years, Eleanor (57), is charged with aiding and abetting additional offences in relation to the same police operation.

Both strenuously deny any wrongdoing and are due to appear in Newry Magistrates’ Court on April 24.

This is what I got on WhatsApp from someone based in South Down on Friday morning:

Was speaking to the journalist who spent the night in the Antrim crime suite …. The reason it came out was … the daughter was married and trying for a family went for investigation and discovered she had been severely damaged as a child … told her husband and naturally he went ballistic… spoke to his father the UUP guy and they then set jeoffry up got a judge to give a warrant to bug his home and car the two girls then trapped him and it was enough evidence for police arrest also this journalist friend has a video of him in bed with two young boys !!! I have no reason to doubt my source so more will come out either before or after his ‘suicide’ also the son in law on the same flight as yer man and started shouting abuse on board the plane to him so everyone on the flight heard the accusations ie you raped my wife etc it had been on the news that a man had been escorted off a plane after being abusive to another passenger!!! It now falls into place !!! His wife is a disgrace god forgive them both

The plane altercation last week, for reference: Man thrown off plane after altercation with Jeffrey Donaldson.

If half of that is true, then he'll have topped himself by the time the court date occurs, we'll just have to wait and see.

Absolutely tragic for his victims, if any of that is true.

Big coincidence that the sudden surge of online activity of the west brits on here on te day Jeffrey appears in court. One would think they want to talk about everything but Jeffrey. Or maybe thats just me.
