The ones that are approved by Cork City council are cleaned up by CCC and are a nod to a very longstanding tradition. I think the CCC are to be complimented for getting out in front of this and without being killjoys making sure things are done properly.
If only the guys in the WBN did the same and let the local councils monitor their bonfires instead of forcing them to be built next to residential areas well within the safety exclusion zones set out by the Fire Service. There wouldn't be any offensive slogans or flags or photos on they pyres either.
